Tyler Thomas | Installer
Tyler Thomas joined the Strickland’s team as an Installer in March 2021 to make people’s lives easier. He says, “Whether it’s adding the privacy of new blinds or organizing a customer’s closet, the best part of my job is getting to help people every day.” Tyler’s been in the field of construction and installation for nearly a decade now. Before installing kitchens and baths and working in finish carpentry, he operated his family’s landscaping business in Maryland.
After living in Phoenix for five years, Tyler made his way to Wilmington to be closer to his family in South Carolina. He’s always wanted to live close to the ocean, so that’s a huge bonus! His role at Strickland’s proved to be a great fit, “not just to offer customers a great product, but also to be a part of the wonderful team that’s behind it all.”
Tyler and his wife recently married in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Asheville, NC. While they are waiting for their home to be built, they’re dreaming up all the recipes they’re going to cook in their new kitchen. They also enjoy exploring local restaurants together. In Tyler’s free time, he loves the outdoors, being on the water, cycling, mountain biking, and woodworking. If he could have any home organization product, he imagines the perfect garage storage system to house his woodshop and all of his woodworking and workshop materials. He adds, “A few cars would be nice, too!”
Tyler’s take on:
- Blinds, Shades, and Shutters: Even an avid collector of sunglasses still needs window treatments! His current living space has faux wood blinds, but he has his eyes set on automated cellular shades and plantation shutters in the future.
- Home: Tyler recommends organizing closets and storage spaces by season so that everything is together and accessible when you need it.
- Draperies and Fabrics: As a drummer, Tyler suggests draperies and curtains for one of their lesser-known benefits: reducing reverb and echo in your home.
- Custom Garages: His first car was the sporty 2001 Chevy Camaro SS; it would be fun to park one in the garage again!
