Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent celebrate a “modern classic approach” to window treatments in their 1928 Spanish Colonial in Los Angeles’ Hancock Park neighborhood. As Nate Berkus explains, “My go-to is typically a shade mixed with flat drapery panels that skim the floor. But I tend to create interiors that are a little simpler and a little less ornate. I don’t really reach for fussy window coverings as a general rule.” With the newest addition to their family, a toddler named Poppy, simple and beautiful designs make perfect sense. In their new home, crisp, cream-colored draperies pool softly onto the floor and light linen shades allow just enough lighting for a good read in their living room.
