Joelle Ando | Designer

Joelle AndoFor Joelle Ando, working in design has always made perfect sense. She began her design career at the age of sixteen. Growing up, she worked as an assistant to her mother, a successful interior designer. After finishing school, she continued pursuing her passion, working as a sales associate for a high-end furniture company in New Jersey before moving down the coast to North Carolina. There, Joelle began designing models for custom-built homes with her husband, a real estate developer who has been constructing private family residences for upwards of 20 years.

Joelle says, the highlight of her job is “helping customers make their house a home.” She continues: “Doing so is easy when you have such an awesome product line and a great team to work with! Joelle dreams of redesigning her entire garage with Strickland’s organization products. As she jokes: “I just need to get the hubby to clean it out first!”

When she isn’t designing custom window treatments, researching the latest trends in closet organization and design, or building custom garage systems, Joelle enjoys watching HGTV, playing tennis, and walking on the beach with her family.

Joelle’s take on:

  • Blinds, Shades, and Shutters: In her own home, Joelle prefers faux wood blinds, which she says are a great pick for their style and longevity.
  • Home: Joelle’s a total pro at pantry organization and calls Strickland’s closet system “the best invention ever!”
  • Draperies and Fabrics: Joelle’s dream view is simple and not far from Wilmington — the ocean.
  • Custom Garages: Inside Joelle Ando’s garage is her dream car: a 2017 Volvo XC90. As she says: “I keep my car in my garage and I couldn’t imagine keeping it outside – it’s spoiled!”
